|Ideas for exams?||
It is that time of the semester again, when we are beginning to think about exam questions, and I thought this might be a good place to share old exam questions with each other. I haven't used an exam since 2004, so mine may be outdated. On the other hand, the same fact situations can occur year after year, even if the legal analysis is somewhat different. In the spirit of sharing, I am attaching my exam from 2004, with the caveat that I have not looked at it since then. I hope others will be willing to share their exams in this forum.

The AALS Section on Nonprofit Law and Philanthropy invites you to present a paper on a legal topic addressing the emerging role of social enterprises in what has traditionally been the nonprofit sector. At least two panelists will be chosen through the call; two other solicited panelists will be Melanie Leslie (Cardozo) and Richard Schmalbeck (Duke).

There’s nothing like fantastic food and sangria to get a meeting off to a great start. On Friday Jan. 7 the Chronicle of Philanthropy hosted a dinner for Nonprofit Law and Philanthropy Section of AALS at Taberna del Alabardero, in Washington, D.C. Diana Aviv, President and CEO of of Independent Sector, shared her perspective on the political climate facing nonprofits. Although surveys indicate the sector is valued on the Hill, she believes that both the charitable deduction and the definition of §501(c)(3) could be at stake after the 2012 elections.
